Paintings during and after the 1913 overseas trip #

It is uncertain when exactly Naudé painted these. Many were quite large and would have been cumbersome to travel with. Where are the sketchbooks from this trip? According to his travel companion, N.C. Krone, in an interview on 21 July 1973, Naudé already began to paint in Beira and Zanzibar, held exhibitions in London, and sold some of his paintings.75

Was Naudé influenced by Van Gogh’s The sea at Saintes-aries?

Claude Monet also used orange reflection in the water to evoke movement in Impression Sunrise (1872).
