Signed “Naudé” lower left, oil on canvas 60 x 44cm (Roets, p.180 App.B no.33). There’s some confusion about painting details as Roets dates “Ou Jettie, Kaapstad” 1907 signed “Hugo Naudé” lower right, 1975 owner was Mrs M. Hugo, Franschhoek, but measurements are different to the Old Jetty, Cape Townof 1897 whose Provenance was Mr JP Hugo, La Cotte, Franschhoek, thence by descent (Strauss & Co. lot 31, 28 March 2023). Maybe there was another painting of the Old Jetty?
