A happy marriage to Julie Brown on 23 July 1914 after their engagement was announced in 1912, seems to have shifted his painting style to one of confidence and joy to have a life partner during his lonely artistic struggles:

Reproduced in the 1988 KWV calendar. One of the oldest family-owned wine estates in South Africa (Kaaimansgat, Tulbagh Valley), started by two young bachelor cousins (“twee jonge gezellen”) in 1710. Die Kunskamer exhibition cat.no.14. “Cope” was Naudé’s best man and travelled overseas with him in 1913.
Oil on canvas 75.5 x 65cm. Date by Invaluable. Oats was born in Cornwall 1848, became a mining engineer and Chair of De Beers Mines from 1905 until his death in 1918 (Eric Rosenthal, comp.& ed., Encyclopaedia of Southern Africa, London: Frederick Warne & Co., 1970, p.403).

The Garden of Remembrance was designed and planted in the Church Square by Naudé in 1919 for the 100th anniversary of Worcester in remembrance of those who died in WWI, including his nephew Wouter du Toit – the opening took place on 27 February 1920:

Foto 37 in Dr Julian Kritzinger, “1869-2019: Die 150-Jarige Geboorteherdenking van Hugo Naudé – Die Man Wie Ons Geleer Het Wat Dit Is Om Werklik te Sien”, a series of articles published in the Worcester Standard & Advertiser August-September 2019. Kritzinger notes in his Worcester Standard & Advertiser 17 September 2020 article “Tuin spog nou met nuwe baadjie” that this photo was taken before the NG Kerk’s tall iron church steeple was demolished on 7 August 1920 which accounts for the shorter steeple in the paintings below.
